The Traditional Healers of Indian state Chhattisgarh use many types of cooking oil while preparation of pot herbs based formulations. According to them, these cooking oil play important role in treatment of diseases. Through Ethnobotanical surveys conducted in different parts of Chhattisgarh, I have collected much information on this aspect. Among the frequently used cooking oil, presence of name of Bahera (Terminalia bellirica) kernel oil may shock many modern experts. In majority of reference literatures, it is clearly mentioned that Bahera oil is non-edible oil and used for soap making. But in Chhattisgarh natives use this oil as cooking oil. Oil is extracted in village and then consumed with much taste. Although it is less popular among the natives of present generation but still you can find much information available about it. I have tasted the food prepared by using this oil. Externally this oil is used for skin related troubles. Information on over 900 formulations in which it is used externally has been collected so far. The Healers use it internally also as medicine. The tables below clearly show that how this oil is used with other herbal formulations in treatment of Type II Diabetes. In treatment of cancerous wound it is used in combination with other herbal oil. In this chapter, through 3000 tables I have tried to present the way through which Bahera oil is used. In Cancer report you will find over 5000 pages on use of this oil both internally as well as externally.

Bahera is well known tree of medicinal and religious importance in Chhattisgarh. In order to enrich its different parts, the Healers practice Traditional Allelopathic Knowledge. Through this knowledge they enrich oil with specific medicinal properties. In Chhattisgarh Plains, they use over 300 herbs in form of extracts and leachate for treatment of Bahera trees. They have marked the old trees getting Allelopathic treatments from generations.
